You don t need a well drawn 2d floorplan. For a simple home plan i usually directly drag and drop any of the preset floor plan symbols on my drawing board to adjust scale unit dimension colors and more or to group ungroup items. I m using edraw floor plan maker which is 2d based for some of my daily practice i m not a professional floor plan designer but i found edraw is quite easy to use. I have the floor plan with all the measurements in the room and the furniture within it.
